Transport MEC says human error to blame for three major Easter crashes in Limpopo

The Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Violet Mathye, says the three major car accidents during the easter period have all been due to human error.

Five people have died in crashes on the N1 between Modimolle and Mokgopong in Limpopo this week.

This as the Zion Christian church, one of the biggest church groups, in the country, hosts its easter celebrations in Moria near Polokwane.

Mathye was briefing the media on Friday at the Kranskop Toll Plaza on the road safety campaign.

The department has also partnered with the Putco bus service to transport some church members.

"Our wish is to say we don’t want to see any fatalities in one of our roads, but that one didn't happen, but we are saying we don't want extra accidents. That's why we are saying we hope after Monday we will be giving good statistics."
