Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town are heading into a mixed weekend of showers, thunderstorms and fluctuating temperatures, according to AccuWeather.
In Johannesburg, Saturday will see a high of 27°C and a low of 16°C, with a touch of rain in the morning.
On Sunday, temperatures will reach 26°C after early sunshine, with increasing clouds and a few afternoon showers.
Monday remains warm at 26°C, with mostly cloudy skies and a thunderstorm expected in the afternoon.
Pretoria will be hotter. On Saturday, the high climbs to 29°C, with a low of 18°C. A thunderstorm is expected in spots in the morning, before some sun and then cloudy conditions.
On Sunday, temperatures peak at 30°C with a morning thundershower in parts of the area, followed by variable cloudiness.
Monday cools slightly to 28°C under variable cloudiness.
Cape Town faces cooler and wetter conditions. Saturday will reach 22°C with a low of 14°C, bringing considerable cloudiness and a couple of afternoon showers.
Sunday cools further to 19°C, with partly sunny skies and a couple of showers mainly later in the day.
By Monday, temperatures return to 22°C under mostly cloudy skies.
