MyCiTi construction: Motorists, commuters using Govan Mbeki Road advised to prepare for traffic gridlock
Traffic has been reduced to a single lane in both directions between Wetton Circle and Low Road, and from Low Road to the intersection with Jan Smuts Drive, two lanes will remain open in each direction.

Motorists and commuters using Govan Mbeki Road are advised to prepare for a traffic gridlock on Tuesday morning as Phase 2A of the MyCiTi construction gets underway.
Traffic has been reduced to a single lane in both directions between Wetton Circle and Low Road, and from Low Road to the intersection with Jan Smuts Drive, two lanes will remain open in each direction.

Mayco Member for Urban Mobility Rob Quintas is appealing for patience while the upgrades take place.
"These works may add to congestion, but they are crucial to the delivering, safe, affordable and reliable MyCiTi bus service that residents along this corridor have been waiting for."
