WC police deploying more cops in Winelands for festive season

Western Cape police have stepped up officer deployment in the Winelands this festive season.
As part of its Safer Festive Season operation, the South African Police Service (SAPS) will increase visibility in areas such as Paarl, Worcester and Ceres.
Police spokesperson Andrè Traut said teams would focus on intensive patrols, roadblocks and crime prevention initiatives.
"Law enforcement visibility will be increased, with a strong focus on tackling violent crime, gender-based violence and drunk-related offences. Police urge communities to work together to make the festive season safe for all."
