JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates made history by winning the MTN8 trophy for a fourth consecutive season after they beat Stellenbosch FC 3-0 at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday night.
The Buccaneers successfully defended their MTN8 crown with three extra-time goals following a goalless draw in regulation time. Tshepang Moremi scored a brace, while fellow substitute Tshegofatso Mabasa also found the back of the net.
It was also a special night for head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who secured his first trophy at the club just two months into the new season.
The Buccaneers not only walked away with another trophy but also secured the prize money of R10 million.
